Update Coronavirus

[March 15, 2022]

All COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.

[September 17, 2021]

From 25 September 2021, when the compulsory 1.5 metre restriction expires in The Netherlands, our venues in Utrecht and Hilversum will start checking the coronavirus entry pass to allow admission. This check will take place via the CoronaCheck Scanner app so that they can easily check the validity of entry passes. You can generate a coronavirus entry pass using the CoronaCheck app on your mobile phone. If requested by the hotel staff or Adept Events organisation, you will have to use the CoronaCheck app to present a valid coronavirus entry pass.

Flexible offer and conditions

Since June 2020 we provided our first events entirely online as well as our annual conference in July in a combination of face-to-face in Utrecht in the conference room which was also equipped with a live video stream. As the COVID-19 virus is still around, we have adapted our offer and method of working accordingly.

  1. Besides the ‘traditional’ live events in our accommodations we now also organize ‘strictly online’ events as well as ‘hybrid’ events. The online events are provided from our own course studio and the hybrid events take place in our venue, where we also provide an interactive live video stream with several camera perspectives. The three event formats are described on this page.
  2. On our website we clearly indicate the Type of event by means of icons with a description.
  3. We have made the registration and cancellation terms and conditions very flexible and geared to these three types of events.
  4. However, we may still be forced to switch back from a live setting or hybrid setting to purely online. This could be in the case of regional lock downs in The Netherlands or in the country of origin of our international trainers. We ask for your understanding.
  5. In the case of scheduled live or hybrid events: as a precaution, please try and keep the day or morning after the workshop or seminar cleared in your calendar. A live or hybrid session of a whole day, which unexpectedly has to go to online, we try to move to online sessions in two consecutive mornings.

[May 8, 2020]

The Datawarehousing & BI Summit will be postponed once again: to July, 2 and 3.

Once again, thanks to the flexibility of our speakers, we have succeeded in postponing the conference programme practically one-on-one to July. This means that the sessions scheduled for June 9th will take place on July 2nd. And the sessions scheduled for June 10 will take place on July 3. For participants who had already registered, this means that the sessions will take place in unchanged form and in the same time slot, which is important for the choice made for the sessions that run in parallel. More information about the post-conference workshops will follow soon.
All participants will be notified by e-mail with further instructions. We will use our step-by-step plan of March 12th with some additional items:

  • RIVM measures will of course be taken into account plus additional precautions from the venue and our own logistics
  • A Live video stream is available so that you can follow one or both conference days in Utrecht as well as online; these videos will soon after be offered on our website for registered attendees and for a limited time
  • For each attendee we will need to know whether they will be joining us in Utrecht and if so, which day exactly. This is necessary both from a logistical and catering perspective and we will take stock via e-mail, whatsapp, SMS, website chat and telephone.

[May 1, 2020]

Online Courses. We can now announce our first online events:

The virtual seminars and worshops will offered through a live video stream from our video studio. The virtual classroom is equipped with multiple professional cameras and microphones and we have a two person crew available so that we can offer a similar experience to that of the traditional classroom and, more important, still offer interaction with the speaker. We will also provide live video streams, if needed, from the classrooms during events with ‘live attendees’ so that the event can also be followed online remotely via the live stream.

[April 22nd, 2020]

In collaboration with Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht, we are able to host the DW&BI Summit on 9 and 10 June complying with COVID-19 restrictions, but it remains to be seen whether this will be permitted.

Live Video Stream during the DW&BI Summit

In addition to the ‘on-premise’ conference that will take place in our venue in Utrecht, we are also currently working on providing a live video stream for registered attendees. All of our speakers have committed to the streaming video and recorded version of their talks, so that remote participants will be able to attend all sessions. So, if you are not able to attend the live conference in Utrecht on June 9th or 10th, you can still join us remote in all the live sessions in an interactive online format. The sessions will also be recorded and we will provide the recorded versions online afterwards to all attendees of the conference. In this way you can view all four parallel sessions each day, two at the event and the other two, that you chose not to attend, afterwards on the video recording. We will communicate the specific details to our attendees by email in due course.

In addition to the above we have doubled the room space and will ensure a very spacious school classroom setup instead of the usual cabaret like or theatre like setup of seats. This applies to the plenary conference room as well as the secondary room that we use for sessions in parallel.

[March 19th, 2020]

The program of the DW&BI Summit, which has been moved to June, has been completed. We have succeeded, especially thanks to the flexibility of our speakers, in moving the practically the entire conference schedule to June. As was our aim in moving to June: all sessions scheduled for March 25th (except for one) will take place on June 9th and all sessions for March 26th will take place on June 10th. For attendees that had already registered, this means that 13 out of 14 sessions remain intact and in the same time slot, which is important for the sessions running in parallel.

All attendees will be informed by e-mail with further instructions. We will continue to use our step-by-step plan of March 12th.

[March 15th, 2020]

All workshops and seminars of Adept Events that were scheduled to take place in March and April have been cancelled and, where possible, moved to May or June and otherwise to autumn this year. Attendees will be informed of the new dates by e-mail. For the DW&BI Summit we refer to the notification and step-by-step plan below.

[March 12th, 2020]

The Datawarehousing & BI Summit, which was initially scheduled for March 25-26, has been moved to 9 and 10th of June 2020. We may have to move some additional events that were scheduled to take please before Easter. Please find some answers to questions below.

We will follow the step-by-step procedure below:

  • Notification and reconfirmation:
    • As soon as the congress schedule has been determined again, as well as any post-conference workshops that we have cancelled, you will receive a message by e-mail from us again.
    • we will then also ask you to reconfirm by e-mail so that you do not have to re-register via the website.
  • Cancellation:
    • if you are unable to attend, you can send a replacement at any time
    • If you are unable to attend, you can also choose to attend another two-day workshop or seminar with us so that credit will not be needed; we will then apply the same (lower) rate.
  • Credit / refund: if you are unable to find a replacement, we will issue a credit note. And if payment has already been made, we will also refund it to the same account number from which the payment was made.
  • Schedule and speakers: we are busy taking stock of the availability of all speakers. As it looks, the programme will be able to take place largely unchanged.
  • Accommodation: the venue, Van der Valk Utrecht Hotel, will remain unchanged.
  • Registration: is temporarily closed until we have everything ‘back on track’.
  • General: please visit our Customer Service page if you have a question that has not been addressed above.

[March 7th, 2020]

At this time the Data Warehousing & BI Summit as well as the post-conference workshops and following events of Adept Events are moving ahead as scheduled, partly due to the small scale of our events. Adept Events is closely monitoring the developments regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and is following the advice given by the RIVM (Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environmental Protection) as to what measures should be taken to safeguard the health of visitors and staff.

Adept Events is following the advice given by various institutes, such as World Health Organization (WHO) and in particular Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM).

As of this moment, the following advice is given by the RIVM:

I want to visit/organise an event. Do I need to take precautions?
It is important to follow the standard measures that apply to all viruses that can cause flu and colds:

  • Wash your hands with soap regularly
  • Cough and sneeze on the inside of your elbow
  • Use paper handkerchiefs
  • Do not shake hands.

At this point there is no reason to avoid or cancel events.”

We will keep you posted on this page and are discussing further measures with our venues. One of those is that on March 4th we have decided, together with the venue Van der Valk Hotel Utrecht, to double the conference room capacity for the DW&BI Summit which takes place on March 25th and 26th. We are looking forward to having you join us as planned.
